Computer Design/Basic Electricity
The 9th grade Computer Design / Basic Electricity elective course is a twenty-week experience,
designed to introduce students to  the use of computer software as a design tool and study 
basic electricity concepts. 
This course brings together elements of computer-aided design and basic electricity while building 
on design and problem solving techniques.  This half-credit course fulfills a Technology requirement 
for the foundations part of the NYS (five credits) Unit Sequence in Technology
In this class students will explore and utilize :
  • Computer Applications
  • Website Design
  • Adobe Photoshop
    - A student version of a commercial grade graphic design application.
  • AutoCAD Lite
    - A student version of an industrial grade engineering application.
  • Google Earth and Google Sketch-Up
  • ProDesktop 3-D Design software
In the Electricity portion of the class, we will concentrate on:
  • Using a Multimeter
  • Alternating Current (AC) electric
    	- 120v Residential wiring systems
  • Direct Current (DC) electric
    	- DC Motor
    	- Circuit board design and construction
